ATTN TEXAS – WHERE HAVE YOU GONE? TOTALLY GARAGE, IT TURNS OUT

You gotta hand it to Travis He Said She Said. The man works hard. And while he doesn’t always bring to town the kind of acts that that tickle the fancy of our well-manicured weak-kneed taste for indie wonk, he does his own thing and he does it well, and that does tickle us the right way. And no event he has organized to date can match up to the long-publicized but suddenly here before we knew it Texas Gone Garage fest, which kicks things off tomorrow night and runs strong like the hammer of a mighty dulcimerist until the weekend end. Three night shows (at Rudyards) and two all ages day-time-athons (at Walters) have your weekend nailed down tighter than a Walmart business trip.

The lineup (31 bands in all) includes both acts currently burning up the flavor crystals in our personal pop charts (The Monocles, American Sharks, Something Fierce, Eat Grapes, Black Black Gold, Sew What, The(e) Freed, Hearts of Animals, the Linus Pauling Quartet, etc) and reunited regulators of rock from beyond our memories (The Mirrors, Dig Dug, The Mike Gunn, etc).
