RIP: NASTY NATION

LET THE BRAIN AND BEAUTY DRAIN CONTINUE! You gotta know something is up when you write a band over and over and over again about playing a show and you never hear back from them. It’s one thing if it’s the perennially non-performing Black Congress, but quite a different script if you’re attempting to get the reply-all from a duo who in the past was eager beaver for shows like they were made of tofu hoagies. Yep. Sadly, prematurely, alas-fully, if you didn’t catch Nasty Nation’s recent Rock Box performance, you missed their last show. We were at Buffalo Fred’s Ice House throwing up one of those Bud Light Clamato disaster into our mouths – what were you doing?

One we finally got the holla-back, we were informed that scandalizing vocalist Brandon is relocating to Chicago, wicked mustache and all. And while we can only hope that the reason behind the up-and-out is to start a new project with fellow Windy City playboy Joey Promahoney, this sadly leaves local Butch Cassidy DJ Quinn without his yanging Sundance Kid. Quinn sounds like he’ll be picking up the occasional run of the decks around town, so be sure to ask nice if he’ll drop the occasional Nation join just for old times sake.
