STEREOTYPE SHOW SELECTOGRAPHIC

So. As much as we like Dick Vital, we think the Morton's Salt girl is a more adorable mascot, therefore, rather than MARCH MADNESS, we have decided to turn into a kitten and name these next few weeks WHEN IT ARE RAIN IT ARE POUR. It being that time of year, there are about one million shows in the next few days, and we can't possibly list all of them, let alone attend them (however, there are some good lists at Space City Rock, Houstonist and Done Waiting). So, our crack research team has created the following helpful chart, which seemed like a much more clever idea before we realized how poorly it would look even after hours of effort. We hope it helps.

We:
1) know better than to make up snarky unfunny quotes about punks.
2) don't know anything about punk and therefore;
3) strongly encourage you, someone who knows about good punk in and coming to houston to start a blog about it. Seriously, this city needs one.

I don't know very much about punk either, other than that i've enjoyed the shows that i've gone too... and the Yuppie Pricks always put on an awesome show. They actually broke up a few months back, but since they didn't do a 'final show' in Houston, they decided to come back to do one.

It's a different sort of punk... maybe rebelling against punk since they act like rich yuppie snobs, sing about things like getting a hummer in a hummer and doing coke, and dress up like yuppies from the 1980's (collared shirts, khakis, and no socks with loafers).

But it's always a good party!

The other big punk show i've heard about that's coming up is the one at Walters with F.UCKED UP/IRON AGE/FATAL FLYING GUILLOTEENS/LION OF JUDAH. But I'm sure you saw that one posted on handsup like i did.

Other than that, i'm not really all that clued into the punk scene either.

If one can set aside that we did not list the JONX at their aces show, the best part about this comment thread is that we actually met 'punk' tonight and this individual is WHIP ASS A++ VERY FAST SHIPPING WOULD DO SHOTS WITH AGAIN.

HAHAHAHA... thanks for the shot! I had fun... altho still not convinced about drinking somethingn that tastes like sprees. :)

PS... not sure i would go so far as to call the YP's a 'joke band'. That's a category for Tenacious D.
